Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy Jeddah is the first property under the AMB brand to open in the Middle East and Africa region, a landmark project for Marriott International in one of the hospitality sector’s fastest-growing markets. The property offers 68 premium keys across studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, finished to the refined standard the brand demands globally.

Public areas bring together breakfast service, an all-day cafe lounge and co-working space within a single interconnected master area, alongside a gym and kids’ play area. As the inaugural AMB property in the region, the pressure to set the visual standard for every future opening was clear from the outset.

Alex was engaged as a Marriott-approved photographer with a strong track record across Saudi Arabia. Photography was coordinated across three locations: the client team in Dubai, the property team on the ground in Jeddah, and brand approvals running through Marriott’s London office. With a regional brand debut on the line, every image had to land.

The Challenge

The most immediate pressure was timing. The shoot had to complete before Hajj season, when flights into Saudi Arabia tighten and visa access becomes unpredictable. The window was fixed. Areas of the property were still being made ready as the shoot progressed, requiring constant recalibration and quick adaptability. Saudi Arabia moves at its own pace, and good experience of working in the Kingdom is the only reliable preparation for that. Brand compliance added a further dimension: images had to meet Marriott’s precise standards and clear London approval before release.

The Brief

The brief called for a full suite of images covering the complete scope of the property. That meant all apartment typologies from studio through to penthouse, the facade in both day and night conditions, the front entrance, and the combined public area encompassing breakfast service, co-working, lounge, gym and kids’ play zone. Each apartment type required three to four images depending on size, spanning bedroom, living room, bathroom and additional bedroom configurations. Every image had to meet Marriott’s brand approval standards and function reliably across all global launch channels.

The Results

The complete image set was delivered ahead of the Hajj deadline, also clearing Marriott’s London brand approval and giving the team the library they needed to launch the region’s first AMB property across its website, OTA listings and marketing collateral. Coverage seamlessly spanned every element of the brief, captured with the consistency needed to function as a single, cohesive library across every channel. For a brand making its first appearance in the Middle East and Africa, the images needed to be on brand, approved by brand, delivered within Marketing schedule and look great. They did.
