Radisson Collection Resort, Galle is a refined beachfront destination on Sri Lanka’s sun-drenched southern coast. Blending contemporary architecture with laid-back tropical charm, this five-star resort offers a luxurious escape beside the Indian Ocean, crafted for travellers seeking beauty, comfort, and authenticity.

As the first Radisson Collection Resort in Asia, this property marks an important milestone for the brand. With over 170 elegantly designed rooms and suites, each opening up to sweeping ocean views, the resort balances modern sophistication with a sense of place. Immersive wellness experiences, vibrant dining concepts, and a tranquil infinity pool overlooking the horizon make this a destination where every detail has been considered.

Our role was to bring this story to life through photography, capturing the essence of the resort, its design sophistication, and the curated calm that defines the guest experience.

Having worked extensively across luxury hotels in the region, including pre-opening photography for leading brands, we approached the shoot with a deep understanding of how to use space, light, and atmosphere to create imagery that resonates. The focus was on showing not just how the resort looks, but how it feels to be there. From the interplay of natural light in the interiors to the seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, each image was crafted to showcase the resort’s refined character and celebrate its setting on the Sri Lankan coast.

The photographs now form a visual cornerstone of Radisson’s marketing efforts, helping position the resort on a global stage. Working closely with their team, we delivered a suite of imagery that reflects both the timeless elegance of the property and the aspirations of today’s luxury traveller.

The Challenge

Photographing a working resort brings its own unique rhythm. At Galle, timing was everything. The tropical sun, though beautiful, was constantly shifting, casting strong contrasts and moments of brilliant intensity. Rather than fighting the light, we embraced it – using its warmth to highlight the calm elegance of the interiors and the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. With the resort fully operational, our approach had to be quiet and efficient. Every shot required careful consideration of when and how to work without disturbing guests. We focused on capturing their atmosphere and detail, adapting to the ebb and flow of a living, breathing hotel.

The Brief

The team at Radisson were clear in their vision – they wanted a collection of photographs that reflected the resort’s essence: refined, serene, and deeply connected to its coastal surroundings. The aim was to showcase the architecture and interiors in a way that felt authentic and inviting, while capturing the effortless sense of luxury that defines the guest experience. With my background as a professional photographer specialising in high-end hospitality and design, I was brought in to craft imagery that felt polished yet natural – visuals that would resonate with today’s luxury traveller and avoid the sense of being overly staged.

The Results

We delivered a complete image library that now underpins Radisson’s marketing across both regional and international platforms. Working closely with the Radisson team, we tailored each shot to reflect the unique character of the property and its connection to the Sri Lankan coastline. The imagery was designed to feel inviting and aspirational, resonating with the sensibilities of today’s luxury traveller. The images are now being used across brand campaigns, digital platforms, and print media, helping to position Radisson Collection Resort, Galle as one of South Asia’s most distinctive beachfront destinations.
